Program Information
Sun City Hoops Girls Basketball Club is a non-profit organization "founded" in order to promote the game
of basketball and it's athletes. The Club sponsors various events, such as, leagues, tournaments, clinics,
camps, and other basketball related events in order to sponsor the various teams in the Club.
The Club is open to all female athletes between the ages of 9 and 19, who want to further develop their
skills and are serious about a future in college basketball. Young ladies who have recently graduated high
school and even junior college players can still participate. The Hoops program places girls on teams that
either travel or compete locally. The travel squads compete in the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU),
Basketball Congress International (BCI), Youth Basketball of America (YBOA), and other tournaments in
and around the southwest, and nationally. The local teams are used for training and development to help
the players develop their game and their attitude. The program provides camps, clinics, skills sessions, and
sponsors trips to other camps and clinics across the nation.
All of this is to prepare the athlete for exposure, exposure, exposure. The girls are given the chance to be
seen by college coaches, scouts, and recruiters. The club participates in tournaments that are scheduled
during the NCAA observation period, so that the coaches and scouts are given the opportunity to see
potential collegiate players and affords the athlete a better opportunity at gaining a scholarship.
Of course they will face top talent from across the nation, which serves as a chance for them to compete
at a higher level. They will be pushed to perform to the best of their abilities by our program, their
team-mates, competitors, and most importantly themselves.
